The exhibition titled "Frontera" was first presented at the ParisPhoto international fair with the support of the Cultural Institute of Mexico in Paris.
Lourdes Almeida dedicated three years of research (since 2015) to the northern border of Mexico. The artist worked on both sides of the border, photographing migrants (undocumented in precarious work situations, young and old) who succeeded in crossing the border, as well as those who failed. To get a closer look at the conditions of this true Via Crucis, to understand the suffering and difficulties of these trials, the photographer traveled to different crossing points along the 3,185 kilometers of the border, in major Mexican and North American border cities, and in the most inhospitable deserts.
